Kid-friendly Recipe: Chocolate



Ingredients

  • 200g chocolate chips/ chocolate bar broken into chunks (if you are using dark chocolate, aim for >70% cacao content).

  • your choice of toppings -dried fruit (e.g. dried cranberries, candied orange, crystallized ginger, coconut flakes, sultanas/raisins), chopped nuts and seeds (e.g. pistachios, walnuts, pine nuts, sunflower seeds, linseeds).

  • optional: flavoring e.g. vanilla/orange extract


method

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, heat chocolate in 20-second intervals until melted. Stir frequently until smooth. Be careful not to burn your chocolate!

  • Spread your melted chocolate thinly onto parchment paper

  • Top your chocolate with your chosen toppings

  • Chill your chocolate until firm.


Note

You can also top your chocolate with honeycomb, fudge pieces, sprinkles, sea salt, popping candy, popcorn, pretzel, desiccated coconut, edible flowers
